Visit Giao Long Monastery

Visiting Giao Long Monastery is often the moment when intention becomes real. Many students describe their first visit as a quiet recognition a feeling of coming home to a place they had not yet seen. The purpose of the Site Visit is to offer you a direct experience of the environment where you may soon study, practice, and grow.

You are warmly invited to join any of the scheduled visit events hosted by GLM, or to contact us directly if you wish to visit on your own. In every case, the monastery welcomes you with the gentle hospitality of the Tibetan tradition.

A Space to Feel, Not Just to See

A Site Visit is not a tour in the ordinary sense. Instead, it is an invitation to:

  • Walk through the meditation halls in silence,
  • Sit by the lake and feel the stillness of the forest,
  • Observe the rhythm of daily practice,
  • Speak with teachers and resident practitioners,
  • and sense whether this is the place where your intention can deepen.

The purpose is not to impress you but to let you listen inwardly.

GLM welcomes you with the gentle hospitality of the Tibetan monastic tradition.

Scheduling Your Visit

Site Visits are available throughout the year.
Students may choose:

  • Day Visit – a half-day or full-day experience
  • Weekend Visit – includes guided orientation and community activities
  • Immersion Visit – for students deeply considering long-term study or residency

All visits require simple registration so that the community can prepare to welcome you mindfully.

A Step Toward the Path Ahead

A Site Visit is not a requirement—but for many, it becomes a turning point.
It helps you understand not only the monastery, but yourself.

May your visit bring clarity.
May it help you recognize where your next steps wish to go.

Personalized Guidance for Every Visitor

Each visitor receives gentle support from the Student Life team. They will help you:

  • Understand the programs you’re interested in,
  • Explore housing options,
  • Learn about daily routines and expectations,
  • and ask questions about life, community, or long-term practice.

We want you to feel informed, welcomed, and unhurried.
