Undergraduate Program

Foundations of Wisdom, Seeds of Compassion

Undergraduate studies at Giao Long Monastery provide a grounded, contemplative foundation for students beginning the path of Buddhist learning. Rooted in the Tibetan tradition and shaped by modern contemplative education, the program trains students to develop clarity of mind, ethical discipline, and compassionate awareness — the essential qualities for all higher study and practice.

Our undergraduate curriculum introduces students to the heart of Buddhist philosophy, including core teachings on impermanence, interdependence, and the nature of mind. Alongside these studies, students engage in daily meditation, community service, and basic Tibetan language, building a learning environment where wisdom grows from direct experience.

The program is tuition-free and open to both lay learners and monastic aspirants. Through simple living, steady practice, and supportive guidance from teachers, undergraduate students gain a strong intellectual and spiritual base, preparing them for advanced studies in philosophy, translation, or contemplative practice.

Undergraduate education at Giao Long is where the seeds of wisdom are planted, forming the roots of a lifelong journey of understanding and compassionate action.

Graduates emerge not only as scholars but as practitioner-leaders — individuals who embody the union of wisdom and compassion in service to humanity.
