Graduate Program

Diligence Toward Awakening

At Giao Long Monastery, graduate education is more than the pursuit of advanced knowledge — it is a deep alchemical journey of inner transformation and compassionate service. Rooted in the timeless philosophy of Tibetan Buddhism and expressed through modern contemplative education, our graduate programs invite students to cultivate both profound understanding and direct realization.

Students may focus on fields such as Madhyamaka and Yogacara philosophy, Buddhist ethics, textual translation, or contemplative psychology, under the direct mentorship of Khenpo la, Geshe la, and Rinpoche teachers.

Our programs are tuition-free, open to both monastics and lay scholars committed to living the Bodhisattva ideal. Study formats include on-campus immersion, low-residency courses, and research-based fellowships, allowing flexibility while maintaining academic depth and spiritual discipline. Each thesis, translation, or research project contributes to the greater field of Buddhist thought and the collective aspiration of awakening for the benefit of all beings.

Graduates emerge not only as scholars but as practitioner-leaders — individuals who embody the union of wisdom and compassion in service to humanity.
